Ericsson's pie which never goes out-of-date

Ericsson have recently commissioned Beaver Design to create a user-friendly calendar for their intranet. The calendar displays upcoming corporate events with the year broken down into sections, in the form of a pie graph.

Ericsson is a long-standing client of Beaver Solutions (sister company to Beaver Design) and we are proud to continue the relationship with web design.

A staff member using the calendar can highlight a month for a short bullet point breakdown, or select the month to see each day seperately. When a member of staff finds an event they are interested in, all they need to do is click a link which puts the event in their Outlook diary.

Events can be added direct from event management's Outlook system and managed on the calendar through a CMS system. This friendly, simple and unique calendar gives Ericsson another effective way to communicate with their staff.

Beaver Design has continued the ongoing relationship with Spectrum Interactive, by completing the web design for the new Spectrum site. The site has many dynamic features viewable through an easy-to-use navigation menu. In addition to information about the company and products; Latest News, Press Releases and Job Vacancies can be viewed and linked with RSS or Atom Feeds.
A Product Search page was created to allow visitors to view a clear map of locations that Spectrum provide Internet Desks, WiFi Spots and PrintSpectrum services. These can all be filtered down by type of location and brand.

Beaver Design has recently completed an update to the Heat Recruitment website. In updating the look and feel of the site, Beaver Design was able to add some innovative functionality as well.

Integrating into Heat Recruitment’s own network, the website can automatically display new content – reducing the need for additional re-entry of data. With this, an RSS feed was built into the site allowing a prospective candidate to select the types of jobs they are interested in. The RSS feed will then deliver, direct to their reader (Internet Explorer for example), any new jobs that become available.

Candidates are also able to create their own login profile, onto which they can upload a CV. With this profile, they can keep track of jobs they have applied for and be emailed about any new ones that are listed.

Another feature that was built for the site was iTemps. This section of the website allows any temp worker to fill in their timesheet online. Their manager is then able to log in and validate the timesheet, all through iTemps. This saves the need for posting or faxing timesheets and reduces the processing time for Heat Recruitment.

The work and functionality that was put into the Heat Recruitment website means that there is less need to micro-manage the vacancy and application procedure. Jobs can be uploaded, searches done and temps looked after, all through an integrated and easy-to-use website.

Beaver Design has provided not only the design of the new MKB International website, but with the creation of a new visual identity for this international company.

The site has been designed to convey a strong visual image to create an accessible, memorable and unique interface for MKB’s customers. The use of striking imagery and flash animation gives the site an extra dynamic and depth. This increases the strength of the design and its reflection upon the company.

A minimal, technical and contrasting colour palette was utilised to create easily identifiable areas with a clear hierarchy to present a welcoming site that users can identify with.

The Logo has been designed to give MKB International a strong and recognisable corporate identity. We didn’t wish to create a logo that was too specific, instead opting for an abstract iconic image. The logo was created to evoke ideas of space, networking, movement and technical competence.

The typeface has been chosen to reiterate the technical aspect of the company. In addition, it conveys an idea modernity and stability but also pronounces stature and timelessness.
